Week 111: Friday, 12th to Thursday, 18th March 2021

Henry waited really patiently for Grandpa David this morning after waking up quite early on Friday. They played with wooden blocks, building towers and counting. He wanted to bake, so together they made buns decorated with dolly mixtures and chocolate buttons – well, the ones that Henry hadn’t eaten… Later on, he painted some backgrounds for his Easter cards then tidied up and helped to vacuum before going to do the weekly shop with mummy. Puddle jumping filled the Friday evening!

The Easter cards were completed on Saturday with foam stickers before Henry decided he wanted to watch some brass band music, pretending to play along, singing and humming to the music. In the afternoon, we played a few games, played with Megabloks, cars – but got into trouble for throwing things around. He was very tired by teatime and ate most things with his eyes closed. Sunday was Mother’s Day and we began by watching more brass band music, jumping in puddles and having fun in the local park. After an afternoon tea, we built towers – one was so tall, daddy had to life Henry up to put more on top. He wanted to paint, but only on his hands and face. For some reason, Henry wanted to play with Dora – our dormouse doorstop – and spent a lot of the evening talking to her and telling her to “sit there”, carrying her around all evening and even taking her up to bed.

During the week at his child minder’s, Henry visited Crow Nest Park, Pugneys (where the sand pit was the main event) and completed an egg hunt – Henry was good at holding lots of eggs! He also managed to balance eggs on spoons. He played with his friends in bark and made himself messy. He was quite flitty overall, never really settling down to play with any one thing for any length of time unless cars were involved. He has loved telling everyone about numbers, colours and foods too this week. They were able to play in the garden for the first time in a while this week too, which Henry really enjoyed – he couldn’t wait to get outside, especially being pushed on the swing by his friends!
