Daddy was working today, so after breakfast mummy and Henry set off to Pugneys in Wakefield. Henry spent a lot of time in the play area in a spinning bowl and on the swing. He climbed up a ramp in the sandpit and sat for ages spinning a wheel around! He didn’t want to get back in his pram and go on our walk but mummy insisted. He played in a boat a bit further around the lake, but once again didn’t want to move on. It was getting a bit crowded though, so mummy once again said we had to go. When we stopped for our picnic, Henry got very excited as he could see the miniature train going by with people on it. He forgot about his cheese sandwich and concentrated on pointing at it going past. The driver kept waving to him so it was only fair that mummy should take him on it. Henry sat really well, holding onto mummy’s thumbs and cuddling into her. He had a great time on the journey past the lake and through the woods. Afterwards, we shared an ice cream and set off home again. When we were home, we walked up the road as Henry’s childminder was outside – Henry got to see one of his friends who he hadn’t seen during lockdown at all. They stared at each other and Henry pointed out a lorry at the top of the road. It was parked there for quite some time, so he did lots of pointing at it. After tea we went out to replace one of Henry’ geocaches which had gone missing – we also found a playground so he was very happy about that!
